General Store Book Signing

On Saturday, November 21, a bunch of (mostly) local authors had another book signing at The General Store at Westlake.

Barbara came from Lynchburg and Debra came from Woodbridge. The rest of us were from around here. All of us were either self-published, POD-published, or small press-published.

Franklin County has lots of readers but it doesn't have a bookstore; The General Store—with its selection of gift books and regionally published books—is the closest thing we have. The ladies who run the place are very supportive of local authors.

One of the nice things about a group signing is that we can exchange information about hw we promote our books and talk about our publishing experiences. It's kind of like a semi-private authors' party.

I used the opportunity to hand out bookmarks and promote Ferradiddledumday, which will be out in about six weeks. While I'm holding a copy in the above photo, it's an advance reader copy—not the real thing. Plus, I displayed my Ferradiddledumday poster. My

When Ferradiddledumday is officially out, I'll have another signing. My illustrator, Bruce Rae will be there, too.

And maybe a bunch of other authors, too. The more the merrier.

Sorry I missed you. That was the day we did the litter pick-up and I was exhausted afterwards.

You rock, Becky. What a thrill to get a Google blog tonight with our picture on your blog. I'm looking forward to another book signing day at The General Store soon with your "Ferradiddledumday" and my "Not In My Wildest Dreams".
