Bright Spots and Book-signing

This morning dawned cloudy, with just a slant of sun:

Despite the low-hanging clouds, there were some bright spots:

One of my bright spots today was doing a book-signing at The General Store at Westlake. A bunch of Lake Writers were there. In the picture below are Sally Roseveare, Tad Parker, Rodney Franklin, and Curtis Nester.

I was at the opposite end of the table. In the picture below, Marion Higgins is between Curtis and me.

We met and chatted with a lot of nice folks. Another Lake Writer, Karen Wrigley, stopped by. While Karen was there, Smith Mountain Eagle editor Rebecca Jackson stopped by to get a picture of us for the Eagle. Rebecca had her dog with her, so Karen—who's an animal communicator—talked to the dog.

Vickie and Rita, two of The General Store's proprietors, served us some scrumptious snacks. This signing was like sitting around the dinner table with friends. But with books.

The General Store will have another book-signing on November 21. See you there, maybe?
