Busy Lit Week

Today, I'm a guest blogger on fellow writer Leona Wisoker's blog: http://leonawisoker.wordpress.com/2011/04/15/what-i’ve-learned-as-a-minor-league-writer-guest-blog-post/.

This has been a busy "literary" week for me. Monday, I had a Franklin County Library Board of Trustees meeting; Wednesday, I heard Angie Smibert speak at the monthly meeting of the Roanoke Valley Branch of the League of American Pen Women; and last night I did a presentation for Stuck at the Vinton Library. I was delighted to see cousins, Facebook friends, fellow bloggers, and total strangers among the folks of all ages who attended.

Stuck is taking off. Enough folks have read it—including a few at the library last evening—that I'm now receiving positive feed back and a few blog mentions herehere, and here.  Barnes & Noble at Roanoke's Tanglewood Mall sold out of its copies yesterday, but they'll have more for my May 14 signing.

All week, I've also been working on getting readers for the finalists in the Lake Writers Student Fiction contest. At our April 22 meeting, we'll decide on the winners.

I'm supposed to have a crit group meeting tomorrow, but the weather forecast looks so bad that I doubt I'll chance the 40-mile drive to the city.

One of these days, maybe I can find time to write.

The busier I get, the more ideas I get. But no time to get it down.
