Author Copies

I was hoping to get my box of author copies before Stuck debuted at the Franklin County Library last Tuesday so I could give the first two place winners of the art contest a complimentary copy. My publisher generously provides a box of free copies to authors, so I like to spread the generosity along.

Alas, my copies were one of two shipments that were hung up at the printers. At first, I was disappointed— but then I hadn't been through an earthquake, a tsunami, or radioactive exposure, so missing books weren't all that big a deal. I told the winners they'd have to wait.

Yesterday, boxes appeared in my garage:

Did they contain what I thought they might? I open the box and Chloe cat-scans the contents.

Jim-Bob also cat-scans the boxes.

He verifies that the contents are indeed books, though he's a bit miffed that the box contains nothing he can actually use.

But I'm glad the books finally arrived! Now I can get copies to the contest winners, my beta readers, reviewers, and a few others I've promised copies.

So glad your books finally arrived! I can tell the cats are, too.
