Mother's Day Rose
Every Mother's Day, this rose bush in my backyard blooms. If you look through the pergola, you can see it aginst the brick wall.
Here's a closer look:
I grew this rose from slip that Mama gave me in 1999 when I first moved to Penhook. (Actually, she gave me three slips, but this is the only one that survived.) Roses like this had bloomed on the fence in her back yard in Roanoke since I was a kid.
